Minneapolis police search for suspect in shooting of man from Brooklyn Center

The Minneapolis Police Department is looking for a suspect in the shooting of a Brooklyn Center man near 24th Street and Pillsbury Avenue South in Minneapolis on Nov. 13.

Koley Juvar Banks, 33 of Brooklyn Center, died at Hennepin County Medical Center shortly after the shooting, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Minneapolis Police Sgt. William Palmer said dispatchers received a 911 report at about 1:45 p.m. Nov. 13 that a witness heard gunshots and then saw a man running from the scene and a vehicle drive away.

“Shortly after that vehicle arrived at Hennepin County Medical Center and dropped off a shooting victim,” Palmer said. “At this point we have no one in custody and homicide is investigating,” he said.
