Two suspects handgun forced entry and searched an occupied Brooklyn Park residence around 9 p.m. Nov. 12, police say.
Three adults and three children (a toddler and two children age 10-12) were in a home on the 6000 block of 83rd Parkway when one of them saw two adult males approaching the front door. According to police, one of the victims opened the door, and the suspects forced entry.
At least one suspect displayed a handgun, and both began searching the home. While they searched, one of the adult victims escaped and called 911.
By the time police arrived, both suspects had fled, but police located one suspect near the scene and arrested him for probable cause aggravated robbery. They were not immediately able to locate the other suspect but the investigation continues.
Police do not believe the crime was random. They could not yet say if the suspects took anything.
Two victims reported being assaulted. Paramedics treated them at the scene.
