NEC receives construction honors

Facilities Director of Intermediate School District 287 Tom Shultz has been awarded the 2013 Minnesota Construction Association Choice Award for his work on the North Education Center in New Hope.
During the association’s annual awards gala, Shultz, District 287 school board members, administrators and NEC construction partners were honored.
Each year the Choice Award honors one project that was completed as a result of resourceful blending of construction techniques and professionals. Guidelines state that the project must be located in the upper Midwest.
It is judged by the MCA Awards Committee based on a combination of the following: community service, professional team, strong leadership, aesthetics, blending of progressive business and financial methods, creative use of materials, public and private involvement and cooperation and onsite safety.
Intermediate School District 287 serves students from the following member districts: Brooklyn Center, Eden Prairie, Edina, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Osseo, Orono, Richfield, Robbinsdale, St. Louis Park, Wayzata and Westonka.
