Brooklyn Park seeks charter commissioner

The Brooklyn Park Charter Commission has an opening. All legal voters who are residents of Brooklyn Park are eligible.

Brooklyn Park is governed by a city charter, which serves as the “constitution” of the city. This commission reviews the city charter, proposes changes and makes recommendations to the city council as needed. The chief judge of Hennepin County District Court appoints the members of the commission.

The commission includes 11 citizens and one city staff liaison. Commissioner serve four-year terms.

The commission meets 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month. The approximate time commitment is three hours per month.

Application deadline is Friday, Feb. 22.
