Learn about bike maintenance at Rockford Library

Thad Cialek of Freewheel Bike will demonstrate basic bike maintenance and answer questions, 6:30-7:15 p.m., Monday, April 22, at Rockford Road Library, 6401 42nd Ave. N., Crystal.

During “Library Laboratory: Bike Maintenance,” Cialek will cover changing a flat tire, patching a tube, reinstalling a wheel and lubricating the chain, derailleurs and brake pivots. Handouts will include a recommended service schedule.

Cialek has been a cycling mechanic for 10 years and has been Golden Wrench Certified with Freewheel Bike since 2010. He was certified as an Elite Mechanic by Barnett’s Bicycle Institure in Colorado and received training at the Park Tool Technical Summit, a professional training program.

Registration is required and begins March 25.
