Area high school student art on display

Some of the best art by high school students from the northwest suburbs will be displayed at North Hennepin Community College this month.

The college’s sixth-annual high school art show will be Monday, Feb. 11, through Friday, March 1. It will feature student art from many area high schools, including Armstrong, Brooklyn Center, Cooper, Champlin Park, Elk River, Maple Grove, Osseo, Osseo Area Learning Center, Park Center, Rogers and Zimmerman.

Teachers at each high school were allowed to submit up to 10 pieces of student artwork. Faculty will select one work from each school for special recognition.

All the works will be on display in the Joseph Gazzuolo Fine Arts Gallery Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment at 763-424-0779. Admission is free.

A reception and awards ceremony will be in the college’s Fine Arts Center Thursday, Feb. 21. The reception is 6-8 p.m. The awards ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.

The college is at 7411 85th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park.
