Palmer Lake students beat cancer awareness fundraising goal
Students at Palmer Lake Elementary in Brooklyn Park raised $3,837 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through its Pennies for Patients fundraiser last month.
The original goal was $1,400, about $200 more than last year. During the first half of the fundraiser, the school brought in more than $2,000.
The two-week classroom competition included a Domino’s pizza party for the class that raised the most money. Betty Marler’s third-grade class won after raising more than $450.
