From the producers of New Hope Cinema Grill comes Outtakes Bar & Grill, a unique restaurant offering food and drinks.
Outtakes Bar & Grill in New Hope is set to open June 14 with special events to kick off its run.
The weekend will include live music from Sweet Siren on Friday, June 14, and Boogie Wonderland on Saturday, June 15.
There will be specials on food and drinks, likely including deals on burgers, appetizers, beer and cocktails.
Specials will run 9 p.m. to midnight.
Cooper Armstrong Youth Hockey Association is hoping to sell pull tabs starting opening weekend at Outtakes Bar & Grill, assuming they are able to construct and set up a booth by the time doors open.
Outtakes Bar & Grill is owned and operated by Sean Fuhrmann, owner of New Hope Cinema Grill located next door.
Furhmann says the idea has been looming for years.
“When we leave here (New Hope Cinema Grill) we’re always kind of looking for a place to go,” he said.
With limited options nearby, Furhmann and his team began planning Outtakes a year ago, and construction began in February.
“Let’s do it,” he said. “Why not?”
Outtakes Bar & Grill will be located south of Cinema Grill in the Midland Shopping Center on the corner of Winnetka Avenue North and Medicine Lake Road.
The bar and grill occupies two rental properties within the center. One of those properties has sat vacant for years but the other was previously owned by a television repair shop – a business that moved to another location in the center.
And the decor?
“Visitors can expect a unique environment,” Furhmann said.
The bar and grill will have a movie theme so as to not shy away from its neighboring business.
It has the feeling of being on the back set of a movie production with industrial-style materials.
Outtakes will have a similar menu to Cinema Grill: standard American fare including appetizers, pizza, sandwiches, salads and desserts.
The bar and grill will host two happy hours each day: 3-6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight.
Both happy hours are expected to consist of similar deals on food and drinks.
Outtakes will open 11 a.m. each day and is planned to close at 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday – with an earlier not-yet-determined closing time on Sundays.
Closing times may change based on observation of business, according to Furhmann.
“(The bar and grill) adds another option for our customers,” Furhmann said.
Furhmann is happy to now be able to offer guests a place to go after a movie or comedy show at the cinema.
He hopes his guests will venture to the bar and grill prior to a show or immediately following.
His main focus is to provide “great service, good food, priced well.”
Furhmann plans to add an outdoor patio in the future, following renovation to the center.
Discussion about renovation to the center has been had but is not yet determined as to when the construction will take place.
