Thomas E. Nolan

Thomas E. Nolan, 80, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Lewisville Medical Center in Lewisville, Texas following his battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria (Settambrino) Nolan; his daughter Kelly; son Peter and his wife Frances; his grandson Thomas Joshua; four siblings, Colleen (Jim) Hickey, Patty (Ed) Haupert, Tim McDevitt, Terry Beth Campbell (Jay Roesler); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Born in International Falls, Minnesota and raised in Duluth, Minnesota; the son of Emmett and Edna (McConnell) Nolan. He resided in Flower Mound, Texas for the last 29 years.
In his early years, Tommy enjoyed hockey and running around Duluth with his Central High School buddies. After high school, he joined the United States Navy and served on the submarine USS Sea Poacher, SS 406 as a Maintenance Electrician. Returning to Duluth after his service, he and Gloria married in 1962. Later he would return to school and obtain his Journeyman Electrician license.
Tommy and Gloria began their life together in Batavia, Illinois and moved to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, to be closer to family, in 1970. After many years of shoveling snow, they moved to Flower Mound, Texas in 1986 for a much more desirable climate.
His passions included fixing anything that was broken, meeting new people, making new friends, helping neighbors, four wheeling, traveling, and visiting family and friends. He will be most remembered for being a loving husband, a generous father and grandfather, and the first to greet everyone with his beautiful smile and humor.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 740 S. Edmonds Lane, Lewisville, Texas 75067.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Tommy’s name to the American Cancer Society or the HCA Hope Fund (https://www.hcahopefund.com/non-employee-donation/) where he volunteered at Lewisville Medical Center.
