Hopkins hosts Wayzata Friday night

Football teams meet on Royals’ home field

Hopkins will host Wayzata in a West District football game at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Hopkins High Stadium.

Hopkins (3-2) is coming off a 41-20 win at Shakopee last week, while Wayzata (1-4) hopes to rebound from a 35-7 loss to Maple Grove.

Deshawn Cockrell scored Wayzata’s only touchdown against Maple Grove last week.

In Hopkins’ victory at Shakopee, Jadon Washington scored four touchdowns, one on a pass play and three on running plays.

In other West District games Friday at 7 p.m., Shakopee is at Edina, Maple Grove is at Minnetonka and Eden Prairie is at Prior Lake.
