The city of Brooklyn Park is accepting applications for its planning commission through Dec. 31. All residents are eligible to sit on the planning commission.
The commission holds hearings on development issues, including zoning platting, conditional-use permits and variances, and also develops long-range plans for the physical development of the community. Members serve three-year terms.
Commission meetings are at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. The required time commitment is approximately 12 hours per month.
The 11-member commission includes nine citizens, one staff liaison and one city council liaison.
Applications are available at the City Hall customer service desk, online at brooklynpark.org, or are available for request at 763-493-8001.
