PRISM’s fourth annual Taste of the ‘Burbs is May 11

Each year, 300 people gather for food, beverages, auctions and raffles to raise money for PRISM, a Golden Valley-based social service agency.
On May 11, PRISM will host its fourth annual Taste of the ‘Burbs in Minnetonka.
“This event gives members of the community a delicious opportunity to come together, break bread, and support the important services PRISM provides, while having a great time,” said Michelle Ness, PRISM’s executive director.
Guests can sample foods from Nona Rossa’s, Benihana, Pickles Catering, Frankie’s and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
The silent and live auctions will feature items such as private dining experiences, vacations, gift baskets and theater tickets.
DJ Brian Oake, from The Current, will emcee the event.
All proceeds will benefit the organization’s food, clothing, housing assistance, and other programs.
“The way we provide services, with dignity and respect for each person who walks through our door, is as important as the services we provide,” Ness said. “There are thousands of families who come to PRISM each year who have fallen on hard times, each has their own unique story, and we are honored to be the welcoming place they turn to in order to get back on their feet.”
PRISM serves Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, New Hope, Crystal and Plymouth.
The event sells out each year and limited tickets remain.
