Robbinsdale Police discover body with gunshot wounds after responding to report of gunshots

According to Robbinsdale Police, on Friday, June 30, U.S. Marshalls and Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force  identified and arrested a suspect in the homicide, 32-year-old Zittie Taylor. Taylor has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Jody Tyrone Fry and is being held at the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.

At 12 a.m. Monday, June 19, Robbinsdale Police responded to a report of gunshots near 42nd Avenue and Welcome Avenue.

According to Police Chief Jim Franzen, responding officers found the body of a male in a car outside of a residence in the 5600 block of 42nd Avenue North. The man, identified as Chicago resident Jody Tyrone Fry, died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Multiple other police agencies assisted, as well as the Hennepin County Crime Lab.
