The Golden Valley police and fire departments hosted the annual public safety open house June 21 at Fire Station 1, 7800 Golden Valley Rd. Participants watched a live burn demonstration, got to extinguish a fire in the “squirt house,” tried on real fire gear and climbed into squad cars and firetrucks.
