The City of Robbinsdale was recognized at a June 20 council meeting for its high financial reporting standards, the 37th year the city has received such an award.
Larry Jacobson, the city’s finance director, presented the council with a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award for its 2015 comprehensive annual report. The same evening, the city approved its 2016 comprehensive report, which Jacobson said the city will submit again through the same program.
The Government Finance Officers Association employs an impartial panel to determine excellence in standards of transparency, disclosures, footnotes, and other tactics that provide clear information for the annual audit.
“The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment,” Jacobson said.
