Riff City Guitar opens location in New Hope

Instruments, repairs and clinics are what Riff City Guitar & Music Company is all about.
This month, the St. Joseph-based company is expanding with a new location at 7508 42nd Ave. N. in New Hope.
To celebrate the opening of a new location, Riff City will host a meet-and-greet event 4:30-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, with Rob Chapman, a musical YouTube sensation who owns his own guitar line, and his Dorje band member Dave Hollingworth.
Performances, clinics and meet and greets will be a common occurrence at the store.
The store will offer newer brands such as Chapman Guitars and Victory Amplification and classics such as Fender, Martin, Gretsch and Ibanez.
“In fact, there are very few brands the store doesn’t carry,” said Leslie Rich, the new location’s manager.
In addition to guitars, the store sells drums, keyboards and ukuleles.
Interested in learning a new instrument? The store will offer classes but dates have not yet been determined.
The store will also emphasize the importance of customer service, including their “almost famous” cookies and pop, water and coffee.
“An important feature is our hot dog roller,” Rich said. “Every once in a while we’ll fire up the hot dog roller and bun steamer.”
